This region is irrigated by numerous straight streams that fall down a relatively steep slope and that endow the area with that green landscape typical of fertile areas. From the benches along the river we can contemplate this relaxing landscape.

In the lower areas, next to the Pas, most of the population is distributed, thus marking the characteristics of its landscape formed by crops, meadows and riverside vegetation, mainly poplars. In the higher areas, with fewer neighborhoods, the scarce scrub and manicured meadows alternate with the abundant pine and eucalyptus plantations. Oak and beech forests are still preserved, especially in the headwaters of streams such as Requeda and El Cuadro.

Due to its uniqueness we must highlight the Alceda Park, a magnificent place created as a service to the Alceda Spa and converted into an authentic botanical garden with a series of exotic trees alternated with other native trees. Of its wooded along its 7 hectares of extension stand out the conifers by quantity and the lindens by variety.

On the other hand, in the area you will find multiple possibilities for tourism: Nature Park of Cabárceno (32 Km), Prehistoric Caves of El Castillo and Las Monedas (15 Km), Santillana del Mar (35 Km), Cueva del Soplao (73 Km), Vega de Pas (14 Km), San Vicente de la Barquera (45 Km) and, of course, the capital of La Montaña, Santander (42 Km), among many others.
